I bought a Honda a few years ago and love it (as much as you can love a lawnmower anyway). It was a bit pricey at $700.00, but it always starts on the first pull. One feature I really like is that you can walk away from it with it running, it just stops the blade from turning. This is very useful if I see a weed or something that I need to pull. I don't have to turn the mower off and then start it again just to bend over and pull a weed.

yeah i have been looking at mowers with a honda engines, like a craftsman or husqavarna, but they dont offer the blade brake like yours. is your a turn key mower, and what engine does it have? the mowers im looking at have a 160 cc honda engine with ARCS( automatic return choke system). my friend said his mower with the same honda engine broke down, turned out to be the ARCS.

My only recommendation is front wheel drive. It makes it so much easier to maneuver the mower. The drive wheels stop pulling when you lift the front to make a U-turn...but a RWD just takes off!

It's not like you really NEED traction of RWD anyway. If the wheels slip you can, believe it or not, actually give it a little shove with your arms!

I honestly never liked the blade clutch (blade stops but engine keeps running). I dunno, maybe I find it unsettling or just think it's unreliable...up to you, haha.

Hello Jwok. I buy the mower that is the cheapest. I usually only mow it myself in the early spring when it's nice and cool. The rest of the time I have help around the yard, a friend or a kid that needs some $ for school or whatever. I go cheap because there is no telling what someone else may run over. I'm surrounded by 75' pines with lots of falling branches. Lawn mowers don't last too long around here.

My mower has a pull cord, that is why I appreciate it starting on the first pull so much. I'm not sure which engine it has, but I'm pretty sure it doen't have ARCS, since when starting it I need to put the lever in the choke position, then after it starts I need to move the lever into the run position. The only problem I've had with it since buying it was that the cable that works the self propelled wheels broke and needed to be replaced. (Sadly it broke in early spring and couldn't be without my mower for a couple weeks while it was being fixed, so I just had to push it without the self propelled feature. And since the mower was designed to be self propelled, Honda made no attempt what so ever to keep the mower light weight...ugh!)
