Cant wait any more

My LFS is holding a flagtailed prochulodos for me which i asked them to get for me a couple of weeks ago. They hadn't heard of them and their knowledge is VERY good. Simon(the manager there) said he would ask the whole sailer if they could get them(i wasn't holding much hope). I went in on my way to work 2 days later(as i do most days) and Simon called me to 1 of the tanks. Well there they were. He had got 6 of them in such short time, i was exstatic but gutted too as my tank was cloudy and was not going to risk putting 1 in until the water was 100%. Well guess what, now it is. i will be getting 1 tommorow, cant wait.

Yes but i will not b adding any more fish to that tank, as is, the black shark gets to simular size. So the rest of the fish dont really get that big. Plus i dnt know if it makes a difference but my tank is uk ltrs not u.s. I know it's different with gallons.

unfortunately, 2 fish over 12inchs probably wont do well in a 240l tank which is about 64g of water us... does your LFS know the size of your tank?

I read that they grow up to 7 inches quick and then slowly grows but I still think they should be homed in a bigger tank. (no hostility here)

Yes the manager is a friend, but he is totally fish, fish, fish. Just as long as i keep up with regular weekly water changes they should b fine, but i will always look out for the well being of the fish. The tank is 4ft by the way.

I thought they would b hard to get too but i was proved wrong(nothing unusual according to my wife). I pay £13.90 for them which is about $20. Let me know if you want 1 and i will talk to my friend about shipping you some.

I would LOVE some flagtail prochilodus but unfortunately my house isnt big enough for one ...I couldnt have a tank the size they need ..especially after seeing my buddies and how they interact with humans....

way im figuring it is this way
There are 3.785411 liters per gallon (US)
4.54609 liters per gallon (UK)

so my understanding from my buddy, is he wouldnt keep one in less than a 200g, which is 757 liter (US version) or 910 liter(UK version) but again, they are too big for my house so I havent done much research on them other than to know they are awesome fish to look at...are you sure that we are talking about the same fish? because your tank really wont be able to handle him and your shark as they mature and simon seems to be knowledgeable as you say... maybe its not a flagtail ?

I will be upgrading to a larger tank when we move house in march, but getting him/her now as Simon went out of his way to get him/her for me and he has held it for two weeks already.(Not that he minds). Definatly a flag tail, but juvenille as it hasn't got the red in it's pectoral, anul or tail yet, just got the black horizontal lines ind black markings on it's silver body.
