Aquarium safe?

Hi guys, just a couple of questions..
My next tanks will have a couple hideaways... i want to keep the bettas entertained... So i was wondering if i could get some ceramic figures to put in the tank. They wont be painted, just the plain white figure... something kinda like this:

not that figure, but just so you can get an idea. I believe they come out of the oven like this... no paint at all i assume it is safe.... is it?
Thanks guys, i really appreciate it!

Tony,

I have some that came with my goldfish tank. They are perfectly safe. My goldies love them, too.

One thing is make sure they're not plaster... that wouldn't be good to put in a tank...

Some good ornaments to put in tanks are made by AQUA ONE. I have old greek ruins in mine like the sculptured pillars falling onto each other. Looks cool with my greek goddess backing. will post pics soon.

That type of ceramics is called (I believe) bisque-fired ceramic. It has been fired so it should not dissolve in the water, but it also has not been painted or glazed.
