Hi, this is my first attempt to rehome some of my guppy fry so I listed them on craigslist. Has anyone ever done it this way. What should I expect or look for in potential new parents? Do you meet folks somewhere public, how long can the fish stay in those bags?

Any input is appreciated.

I've never sold or given away fish, but I have given away other free stuff. I usually just put a phone number in the listing and then only give my home address to the person picking up the stuff. I meet the person picking up the item outside, so that my door is not open to them. I'm a tad paranoid, I suppose.

When I have bought things, I've prefered meeting in a public parking lot.

edit: I have given away a mattress and box spring, and moving boxes. If I had something small, I'd probably want to meet somewhere. However, keep in mind that someone may stand you up even after making an appointment to meet you, so you may not want to go too far from home.

I have people come to my house to pick things up. But I did meet a member here at the local Petco before. Depends....go with your gut is all I can say. It also depends on where they are coming from, and what's convienent.
With fish, I would ask about their tanks & what they keep/stock in them.

anytime i make a deal over craigslist i meet the person in a public parking lot. i never put my phone number on the ad and only give it out when the deal is ironed out, until the deal is agreed on, i just talk via email.

I have ppl come to my home..they usually want to see my crazy tanks..but everyones home when they do and its usually after a few pain in the butt emails I send back and fourth...I have to see tank pics and specs etc haha..im picky .... I never put my number in the add tho...allset with that LOL ...
