(nothing states "IN" or "OUT". )
however, when I get to instruction #6 to click on #2 screen and check the box "Extended" it won't allow it. The setting will not stay even when I click "apply" and then "OK" It's not allowing for the 2nd monitor to work at the same time as #1. I can't get both the computer monitor and the TV to work at the same time. Either one or the other has to be disconnected. I can get the control panel to display on the TV only if I disconnect the computer monitor. If I can't get both to work then it doesn't do me any good. |
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like the Hybrid doesn't support DVI and HDMI at the same time
The
user manual(PDF) states "
Connect the display using ONLY ONE of the following connectors: the white DVI connector or the HDMI connector," and
this thread on Dell's support forum seems to agree.
If you want to use both displays at the same time, and get sound from both the computer speakers and the TV, you could try using the following products (with no guarantee!):
HDMI Splitter HDMI/DVI adapter Short HDMI cable
You would connect the short HDMI cable from the PC to the HDMI splitter, and one of the HDMI splitter ouputs to the TV with the longer HDMI cable you already have. The other output on the HDMI splitter would be connected to the HDMI/DVI adapter, and that would connect to your PC monitor via the DVI cable I imagine is already in place.
