Competition between pets for attention

I was sitting on the floor, watching my tank the other day. One of our cats comes up and rolls over on her back demanding attention. I turned to pet her, and then I heard a slight *splash* plop!

My GW Killi had jumped from the tank and now was flopping around on the carpet next to me. I guess it wanted its belly rubbed also. I scooped him up and returned him to the tank. I think hes fine. Obviously I returned the glass top to the tank.

I had read about fish jumping out, but it had not happened to me before. I checked my water parameters and everything was fine. Who knows why it decided to do that.

Killis are natural jumpers but I think you're right, he just wanted a tummy rub.

Im just glad that I was there when it happened. Any other time I would have just found a cat licking its lips over a wet spot on the carpet.

I have to laugh at your cat... they are so demanding.
Tonight as I was sitting on the floor watching the tank our cat decided to claw me because I wasn't paying attention to him. Isn't it always the case they don't want attention until you are trying to do something else.
I am guessing your fish probably thought he could get to the food faster if he came out to get it. Glad to see he was ok.

Hello JP. Glad to hear the fish is ok. An extra dose of whatever you use to add body slime will help as well.
