Oops! Well, it's empty now

My male betta's gone. It seems that slightly-bigger-than-normal splash the other day was him going over the side. I didn't see him at feeding time yesterday, but I was thought he was hiding - then when he wasn't there this morning, I started seriously looking. It's not surprising I missed him before; he was over by the cords and didn't look like a fish.

So sorry about your betta. Did you have a lid for his tank?

No, just a hinged glass cover to protect the light. I'd lost the flexible plastic piece for the back, so I had the cover pushed back to leave about 1" gap in both front and back.

Wow, sorry that happened. I didn't even know bettas were jumpers. Well the next time you get another fish you can have the water level drop an inch or two lower than it is now and hopefully that'll fix it. Again sorry for your betta may he rest in peace.

Those plastic pieces are cheap - LFS should have them. If they don't have your size, you can get a bigger one and cut it or get 2 smaller ones and trim the excess.
