I don't know if this is the right place to post this but, is it true that the Brazillian Government is already damming the rivers up?? People are saying that and the endangered fishes such as the Arapaima, and those giant cat fishes wont stand a chance against the dams!

Are there people who are protesting against this!!!

Yes they are doing some and have done some. They also have put in some nuclear power plants which dont require damming up the rivers....problem with that is spent fuel rods, and where do we dump them?
Brazil has also banned the export of some of their fishes. Some plecos are an example of that.
We had the same problem here, when first damming rivers...the Salmon couldn't get home to spawn!!!...now that has been corrected....but it was done at the 11th hour just in time for some of the species.
