I love Halloween! It's so much fun to See the little ones (and big ones) dressed up.
I usually throw a costume together and answer the door dressed (in a costume, I mean

)
Last year it was great fun. I had on a cape and a really cool mask.
It went something like this:
Ding dong.
Open the door just a crack, peek out at their eye level
Me: (in my scary voice): "What do you want?"
Kids: Trick or Treat!
Me: "What do you want?"
Kids: (they look a little apprehensive) "Candy?"
Me: "You wanna give me candy?"
Kids: (Looking confused) "No, you're supposed to give us candy"
Me: (still haven't opened the door all the way) "What kind of candy are you gonna give me"
Kids: (backing up away from the door, looking at each other)
Me: (Finally opening the door) "Trick or Treat!"
Kids: Fits of nervous giggles!!!!!!
They were rewarded with handfuls of candy for making my Halloween so much fun!
Unfortunatly, we'll be away on Halloween. I'll leave a bucket of candy on the front porch with a note that says Happy Halloween, have some candy but don't be greedy.
We've had to do that before and surprisingly sometimes there candy left over. Polite kids.
