| Vent... So everyday i go and pick up my sister from school. We usually ride the bus home.
Well, today i didnt want to go pick her up. I was tired, and said to mom, can´t she come home on her own?
My mom was sick so she couldn´t go either.
So ayway, i texted her and told her to let me know when she was on her way. SOo i got the text, and went to the bus stop to wait for her. It was taking a while. Then i look away from the street. I hear a huge screech and a bang. There was a bus crashing into my sister´s bus. At first, i couldn´t believe it. Then i said.... What do i do. I reached into my pocket to get my cellphone and call my mom, but i didnt have it with me. So i ran down the street to the bus. I get there and my sister was getting off the bus. She was really scared, as was i.
Then she told me, how before she got on the bus, people on the street were staring at her in a bad way (like they usualy do here when girls are on their own) and she was being yelled at by men who drove by. When she told me that, i was mad, and felt guilty. I know it wasnt my fault, but i know my sister, and she´s pretty scared about all that stuff. She is 18... i know... she is old, but she´s so vulnerable... Then i started thinking that f i was with her, maybe she woudnt have been so spooked up, as she would have been with me as i usually take good desisions while im under pressure...
Anyway, yesterday while googing danios, my computer was absorbed by 36 viruses. Somehow the viruses and worms got through Norton´s antivirus, and struck my info. I have downloaded several other antiviruses to find the problem, but i cannot get rid of them. So i will have to format my laptop.
good thing i just recently did a back up...
my word of advise is this:
Be careful with google!
and dont forget to run scans and back-ups!
ALSO, if you are a friend of mine on Facebook, be careful as this spy probaby stole some of my passwords, and if i send a message or post something on there dont click on it. I dont want you guys to get any crappy bad stuff.
Right now i am thankful that i still have my old PC. She´s helping me come on here! lol
Ahh... all better now!
thanks guys! |

| You sound like a good brother, even though you didn't want to pick up your sis.
36 viruses? That sounds like an awful lot to pick up.
What program popped up to tell you that? Some are scams that tell that you're infected and for you to d/l their program to get rid of them except the program its self is the virus, or just a scare tactic so you'll buy their product. |

| Aww, I'm sorry about your sister getting shook up and I agree that you sound like a wonderful brother.
Last year, I was hit by that same sneaky virus! It does trick you into thinking it's your virus blocker notifying you, but that's just how it gets you to click on it. If it pops up again, I used to have to shutdown my computer - only way because it won't let you close or open windows. Why do people make those stupid things?! It's a sneaky scam to get people to buy there anti-virus!
Norton is "ok," but it won't block the really cruddy stuff like that thing you got.... Let me look real quick at what my husband has. It's top notch free stuff. Edit: Have you updated to Google Chrome or switch to Firefox? Both have a built-in blocker that's really effective; I prefer Google Chrome, but it's just a personal preference. I use that along with Webroot AntiVirus with AntiSpyware..., but those aren't free (though really effective). Mike (the owner of FishLore) recommends this and it's free: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php. Last edited by iloveengl; October 6th, 2009 at 06:53 PM.

I have the 8.5 edition. Good Luck and don't be so hard on yourself. Hope your mom gets better. |

| Tony, sorry you're having to deal with so much. Looks like everyone has you covered with good anti-virus downloads.
You're a good brother, you're not responsible for the craziness of others.
Hang in there, things'll get better soon |

| Hi Tony, sorry to hear about your sister. I would love to have a brother like you. I use firefox for a browser and it blocks a lot of stuff for you. I also have the AGV and its free and works great. I also have a great utilities program that is free also its called Glary utilities. Once you clean up the virus it will help clean your registry and other stuff. I hope your mom feels better. |

| I use Firefox and the free AVG and I received Spyware Doctor also. So I'm pretty well covered. I had a run-in with one of those "you are infected with such and such virus and must use our program to fix it - please pay $xx.xx for our program". I shut down my computer and my internet connection and left it off for a while. |

I had so many things on my pc before but never on a website. Do you have google as your homepage? Try changing it to yahoo or another page and see. |

| Alright, here's what i just did this evening.
I downloaded Spyware Doctor. It located the 68 viruses. When i first recieved the scam, i believed it, so i basically downloaded the virus. Then, i downloaded Firefox. I have been thorugh alot, so we just decided to format the laptop, and start from scratch. I fell for this....
If you ever get a warning while ONLINE that says Alpha Antivirus bla bla bla... dont fall for it... its a pain...
Hopefully it didnt steal any of my passwords... |
