Early B-day present

Well today My wife told me when I got back from work that we had so many things to do and I was like give me a break, Can I lay down for a bit my back is killing me. So she got a little mad and . But She understood. So I got me a quick nap and went down to get kids ready and got on the SUV and ok where we going? I asked and She replied whenever we can find tanks. What? I said. and She said you heard me. So there we went and went to Petco to check prices first and they had them at $15 for the 10 gals. So went to 2 Walmarts and found them in one of them @ 12.47 so I grabbed the 3 that they had there and headed back to Petco to grab another 10 gal and she told me to get 2 more 20 gals too. I took the Long ones tho. Yay So grabbed a pruning/planting tool, a thermometer and a glass scrubber with handle. So here is the beginning of my fishroom. Here's a pic too. I said thank you to her and She said I'm not done yet. What? I can't wait. to have everything done. I just gotta do some homework on pumps and how to do the sump filter for this thing. haha.

Well they gonna be my breeding tanks. I will be taking one female and a male put them in the 20 long and when she's holding I transfer her into a 10 till the eggs hatch and strip the mom from the babies and do it again with a different pair.

Oooooooo you're gonna breed! One day I'd like to breed "designer" guppies. But we don't have room for the tanks. What kind are you going to breed?

I'm breeding already african cichlids but I'm expanding and making better blood lines.

I will. Is just going to take a bit of time and work to make a stand and putting together all the piping and filtration for this new setup.

Hello Navy! Wow! That's a lot of tanks! Congrats! Hug the Mrs. for us all! lol
Navy think about setting up your own blog. All you have to do is send Mike a PM and he'll get you started. It would be a great way for you to keep track of everything. Too, you are moderator of your own blog.

I'll be looking forward to your updates!
Have fun!

Thank you so much guys and girls so of you knew I was planning some like it but I didn't expect it that soon. So now I need a pump.

Hey Ken what do you recommend? I'm planing on doing a sump to filter this tanks. Is about 80 gals now but I want to add 2 30's also later on. So should I get a pump that can pump about 600 GPH or so? What you guys think?

Morning Navy. I used my Mag Drive 950 (950gph) on my 155g tank all these years and it did a wonderful job. It's a bit less on the gph than what was recommended but I wasn't over stocked so it did really well. I'm using it now on my 265g with additional Aqua Clears 110's.

If you are going to have a total of 140g's I wouldn't go lower than 950gph for certain. You'll still be close to 8x the volume but not quiet. I don't have any worries about how you maintain your tanks so I think you would be fine. Of course more is better

Thanks so much Ken I'm planning on using a 30L for my sump. You think is good? My wife just founded in Craigslist for $40 with hood, filter, decorations and some more stuff. So I think I'll get that one.

Stand

So here is my idea for the stand. What you guys think? I'm planning on drilling the tanks to drain by gravity and drilling the sump to connect it from the side to the water pump. Planning on using 3/4" from the pump up and 1/2" from the tanks to a main line to the sump. Any input?
