This was sent by my wife to me and wish to share it with you guys.
Thanks to all.

Dear Friends and Family,

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I recently registered for the North Florida branch of the "Race for a Cure". Proceeds go to fund breast cancer research, education, and mammograms for those who cannot afford them. I'm sure each of us have either been touched by breast cancer or know someone who has. My mother is currently battling it, and not for the first time. This is a cause close to my heart.

Please support me in this race! It is a 5K that takes place on October 17th, 2009. Wish me luck!

Navyscuba: Best wishes and prayers to your wife. My good friend is a huge advocate and is actually becoming well known because of a silly idea he came up with. He's a huge supporter and will (and does) everything he can. I know one day you and your wife will eventually run into him.

I've done something similar over here, called Race For Life, which is a women's only, all ages, 5K run or walk, I raised $200 this year. My great aunt has battled 5 times with breast cancer, and unfortunatly it has progressed to her lymph nodes and throat. I wish her the best of luck, they're always a fun event to join in with, especially as your rasing money for an awsome cause.

dvc_r: That friend of yours is HILARIOUS! The more attention brought to any good cause the better. Its wonderful that he is that secure in his masculinity! He looks good in pink. LOL.

ABCDemily: That is awesome! I'm not sure how many times my mom has fought with it herself but I can count at least 3, all of which have been breast to bone. I think this time she was only in remission for 6 months. I hope to get involved with the March of Dimes as well.
