Please Don't Do This

Don't ever add salt to the water in your fresh water tank. There are other ways to cure wounds. Salt will hurt(put in pain) the fish, it is like adding salt to your wounds. Please do not add salt to your fresh water aquarium. There are other methods that are even better and safer for your fish. If anyone disagrees it's okay. I just think salting your freshwater tank is wrong and I disagree with that method of curing fish. It is just my opinion and it's okay if you do it but there are better ways. I may just have the wrong information but if you do have correct info, tell me.

this thread is so random..is there a reason for it? everyone has an opinion on salt and its to each fish owners preference ..we have many members that use it and havent had issues but also have had many that have

Sorry. I was afraid of something like that. I am not really sure on the method but thanks. I read an article online saying horrible things about salting. I know it is succesful but does it put the fish in pain? So sorry about being misinformed, I don't the info fish sites anymore there are only a few good ones like fishllore.

I am not a fan of salt...its more old school to me...there's many other methods of healing and I just have a hard time putting salt on my own boo boo's...but again, we have members that do use it successfully... but personally no I dont ever use it..

I have a hard time putting alchohal and peroxide. Salt is still used in some places for boo boos.

There's quite a few threads that debate salt.
Personally, I don't use it.

OKay I never saw those threads so they must be old. I wouldn't of started this if someone already did. I don't know if it hurts the fish. I rather use something else though.
