| Early Halloween I just thought it would be great to get ready for Halloween so I am posting up what may be my costume. I hate the bought costumes so this is homemade. I was actually going to dress up as a robot and go trick or treating. I didn't prepare in time so this is the best easiest thing. Does anyone want to start fishlore Halloween where everybody uploads pics of costumes or something? Dress up your dog or cat? This is also my first time using gimp. I am very bad at it, and yes, I trick or treat sometimes. Still trying the robot idea. Halloween is a good excuse to dress up without looking weird. I would anyway but they would kick me out of school! Huh? Dress up your fish tank am becoming a robot wizard Last edited by Time; September 4th, 2009 at 02:06 PM.

| I think it's a fun thread - I LOVE Halloween, but...isn't it 2 months away? lol. I don't prepare until October & then I figure out what kind of last minute costume I can make. |

| Oh so true you will see how fast time passes. I did this because I am trying to become a robot. Who knows how long that will take, I never get to dress up too so I am excited. Too excited. I can;t make 1 month costumes for some odd reason. MY brother is trying to become and anime character and he got me trying to become a robot. He has been "preparing" since last year. I hope he actually does it this time. Last edited by Time; September 4th, 2009 at 05:38 AM.

| A few years ago I waited until WAY last minute (like the day before) to figure out a costume. I ended up mixing oatmeal, flour, and water with some green food dye and then I gobbed it all over myself. I actually looked awesomely gross - like a leper or something. One of my favorite costumes. A robot sounds like lots of fun to work on! |

| Yeah it does. I just love the idea for some reason. I am having trouble finding cardboard. I think it will take over two months but maybe I could be part robot. Lol poor people reading my ideas. Last edited by Time; September 4th, 2009 at 02:07 PM.

| Hello Time. I'm sure we'll be doing some Halloween threads as it gets closer to the date. You young ones aren't the only ones that can dress up!

| You mean like 8 yrs old who think they are cool because they don't trick or treat? I hope the world gets full of them. Oh wait they don't dress up. More candy for me! I remember going trick or treating without a costume. I said I was a pedestrian and stuff like that. Funny story My mom went trick or treating with a costume so I could believe you ken. I should make a DIY robot peasant wizard warrior costume thread. Hmmm. Last edited by Time; September 4th, 2009 at 02:07 PM.

| I know you can get lots of cardboard boxes from the grocery stores (because they are always unpacking produce and throwing away the boxes). Next time your parent goes grocery shopping, go with and go to the produce department and ask someone if they have any empty boxes you can have (they're free & they LOVE giving them away). I know this because I used a million orange and apple boxes when I moved across state. |

| Good. I heard about that. Hmm I hope my mom goes grocery shopping soon. I also needed carboard for a temporary dist cover on some electrical stuff. I once short circuited a homemade computer that worked. I am not going to change the subject so will anyone dress their tanks up. I know I will try to. I have to see what my friends do to take a picture along my tank. If they are not good enough to be beside it then oh well only me. So who is dressing their tank up? |

| Try carving a pumkin and puting that in your tank, I'm sure the fish will enjoy the flesh inside. Cool halloween deco and something for the fish too eat. |

| Great Idea. I will try getting those really small pumpkins so it fits. It will look funny with my aquascape. I can see it now. My fish hiding in the pumpkin. |

| Blinder. Instead of a scary face you could carve an open sharks mouth. |

| Hello. I wouldn't recommend putting a carved pumpkin into your tanks. I'm not sure how good the water quality would be after you remove it. Think about it first.

| I thought about just leaving the hard part of the pumpkin so it doesn't do anything to the water. I will wash it if I decide to put a pumpkin in the tank. |

| I've never put a pumpkin in water before. I'm not certain if they will sink or not.

| I will leave it sitting in water and if it does something to it I won't put it in. I don't think a carved pumpkin will float. |

| Great idea to test it first. I'd hate to see your first post after Halloween saying "my tank is cloudy".
Have a good weekend!

| Lol I would hate it to. I will rinse and rinse and try to get only the shell of the pumkin. I think maybe the pumpkin will collapse because of the water. |

| I wonder how mad Dracula would get at me if I re-did his substrate for Halloween in orange and black
Do they sell "seasonal" tank safe decorations? That might be better.
For Christmas, I'm DEFINITELY re-doing his substrate into green and red (or maybe just green) since he is red.
And for those of you who know how many times I change my substrate-No, I won't do it all of the tanks, just Drac....he has the most patience. |

| We bring Hagan every year. One year, we dressed him up as Tinkerbell (he'd ticked me off) and this very elderly woman thought he was a child and asked if he was allowed to have candy. It was hilarious. No, that's not a joke. I'm being dead serious. |

| For ONCE, thankfully I had couth. However, once we got out of ear shot (wasn't very far considering her age), both me and my daughter cracked up for a good 1/4 mile.
When I told my mother, it took her a good 5 minutes to stop laughing.
The problem is, my dog is 109 pounds and he fit the Tinkerbell costume, so I can understand where she was coming from, but gosh, it was hilarious! |

| It feels weird laughing when you read something online. Lol I laughed for 30 mins one time and everyone that I was crying and I just started laughing more. Lol in the end it wasn't funny because I couldn't breathe and was feeling like I could faint. My brother actually fainted from laughing once. He fell and hit his head but he was alright thankfully. |
