Have been doing some thinking...

So, my 32 gallon tank looks terribly empty. I have been thinking of making it a community. The thing is, i have samson. I would like to get a couple schooling fish. call me simple but i really love Danios. they are fast, nicely colored and are economical. what do you think? maybe i could also add a school of barbs, ut im doubting it since they would need a large school to be able to lower the agression. I would like samson to be my centerpeice. So what do you think?
8 Danios
1 Jelly bean ( i already have samson)
1 CAE ( he´s nice, too nice for his size anyway)

maybe:
( 7 neons?)

tell me what you think please.

ooh the reason i chose danios is because they are very fast, too fast for samson to catch anyway
thanks for your elp in advance

I'm not the right one to ask about that. I have this thing (OCD I think they call it) and it makes me try to keep species specific tanks. My community tanks consist of a guppy tank with cories and a ghost knife fish, a molly tank with a shark that I have to find a home for, and a platy tank that has two itty bitty angelfish in it.

So far we are just getting some showers off and on for now I have not seen anything about any severe weather coming in anytime soon.

Hmmm...
I'm not familar with Jelly Bean's but I'm going to recommend against the CAE. I've heard too many stories of them eating the slime coat off of tank-mates to want to pick one up.
Wish I could help more.

Thank you
yes i have heard the terrible slime coat stories too after i bought him. I have gotten attached to him and to be honest i have been monitoring since i got him and he hasnt been acting up or anything. and he's rather large too, hes closing off the 5 inches. Samson is the one that kinda shows him Who's the boss haha

oh, a jelly bean is a hybrid of a Convict and a BP

CAE's usually cause more problems as they get older, I hear they're gorgeous and great fish to have just not so fun in a community. However if you stay with fast fish that aren't really "broad sided" then it might work out.

lol thanks for letting me know what the JellyBean is

here's a link to a pic of a goldfish that was attacked by a plec. I'm assuming CAE's would look similar. One thing to consider is keeping the CAE on a well balenced diet with a good level of meat content.

Tiger barbs make good tankmates for a semi-aggressive tank, which is what you're going to have with a jellybean and CAE.

Not to hijack, just trying to help, but don't they come in many different varieties, too? Like aren't the green barbs tigers?
