Tetra SafeStart

Hey everyone,

I've been looking recently around for the Tetra SafeStart in my area and can't seem to find any. I was thinking, anyone can maybe send one here to Malaysia? haha

Hello Peacemaker. Don't feel too badly I've never seen it locally here in the US. I have to order mine. I'm not sure if drsfostersmith.com or thatfishplace.com ships to outside of the US but it wouldn't hurt to check. Or maybe one of our other members can tell you if they do or not. I know they carry the product.
Best of luck
Ken

I'd prefer to fishless cycle or use the media transfer method. Sometimes TSS doesn't work, and even if it does, the water parameters are all out of whack for 7-10 days or however long it takes to do its thing. Fishless cycle or media transfer (if done correctly) at least ensures that the fish don't suffer for any period of time. Not to mention, I'm sure shipping to Malaysia would be quite expensive!

haha thanks guys!

harpua2002: I've read a lot about TTS from other members' opinions and comments, and they say it's fine, it just takes a few weeks only to cycle. Depending on the tank.

I'll definitely try ebay but not sure if I'd really buy it now, since now I've found out the shipping price cost more than the item itself!

I understand where you're coming from, but the fish still end up suffering through wacky parameters for a week or more if it does work, and sometimes it doesn't. I just personally don't feel the need to add a product to cycle when I can do so more safely and effectively through other methods. Just a thought.

I figured the shipping would be pretty high, although I've never shipped out of the country before. Funny story- my husband used to sell shrimp a lot and would advertise a price that included shipping to potential buyers. He accidentally sold some to a guy in Canada, and ended up losing money because the shipping was so expensive, but he couldn't change the price that he had already quoted the guy. After that, he made sure to mention continental US only! LOL

Wow! Yeah, good to mention 'only in US'. I didn't know shrimp can be shipped as well, I normally just buy them at the local store down the street. Did your husband rare his own shrimp?

Yes, he bred them for quite some time and sold a ton of them on eBay and Craigslist.
