Review Air Pumps And There Quality

Can Everyone please Write your personal Review on Air Pumps and Quality.

How quiet they are / How well they work

I'm Looking for a New Air pump for my 95 Gallon Wavefront. So if someone Could please help me with that I'd appreciate it.
(Expense is not a Huge issue I want Quality!)

I have a whisper 60 in my 55 gal, it has two air ports, one runs my undergravel filter (4 airstones), the other port runs two airstones in my decor. I also have 2 whisper 40s- one in my 75 gal tank to run a large disc airstone and one in my 20 gal that also runs a UG filter and two stones in some decor.
My 60 is quieter than the 40s ... but here is the secret:

It's what the pump in sitting on!

My 60 is sitting in the corner of my staircase which is carpeted! You can't here it even if you try! The other two are sitting under the tank, one's on a towel the other on a plastic box. It's not very noisy but you can still here it.

I've had them running for 2 years and never had a problem. If I had to buy another I would get the same ones.

I have a Tetra Whisper 40 and 20 on my tanks. They're fairly quiet, but as dvc said, it really depends on what you have them resting on. Mine are on 1/2 inch thick mat of neoprene rubber. They seem to deliver a good volume of air. I've never had a problem driving multiple airstones in multiple tanks with them.

However, I'm not convinced of their long-term reliability. The first one I had became noisier over time and failed in less than 6 months. I opened it up, and some internal plastic parts had broken off. The two I currently have seem ok.

I've also briefly tried the Rena air pumps. They are a lot more expensive, but they don't seem any quieter. And they don't seem to move as much air as the Whispers. Maybe they are more reliable?

Just my experiences. I'd love to see how others have fared with these pumps.

Good morning. You could send Mike a private message and ask him to include Air pumps in the reviews section, for their own category. Wouldn't hurt to ask I think it would be a big help.
