So my MTS has grown and spread. My mom who just started out with one betta..Because I bought her the tank and all the supplies and talked her into now has 5 tanks. a 55, 30,16,10,5 ..I'm good at this aren't I
She also has some AWESOME fish. We won a auction for some Phallichthys Fairweatheri (very rare livebearer) and Endler population #2 (that's what the guy who caught them named them ) from Lotsoffish (Pete) off aquabid. Both species were caught by the world famous fish collector Jaap-Jan de Greef in 2005 in Rio Pucte, Guatemala. Lotsoffish got a hold of them and now we have them!!..lol...She also has a ton and I mean a ton of babies. She's going to be putting them on aquabid because she's just overrun with the guys. She is already looking into more fish and she's hooked..lol..I hope she'll be joining us soon!.

She took it and ran with it..lol..She fell in love with these fish and just started bidding away. They are pretty cool and very pretty. It's fun to see her enjoy the hobby like I do.

Oh wow Cesch! Your mom is going to breed endlers? How cool. Such beautiful little fish.
I've read so much about people mixing them with guppies . It's nice to hear that some people want to keep the line pure

Yup she has seriously 40 some odd Endler babies right now.some even bigger. She really appreciates them for what they are and how rare they are she would NEVER mix them with anything. You can't even find any info on these fish..I told her she needs to be documenting especially the fairweatheri's. She's pretty proud of them and she has every right to be. They are beautiful fish. She's excited about helping to put another fish into the hobby as well this is all new to her and she's doing a great job. She's a good hobbyist and takes great care of her babies.. I'm super excited for her.

You have got to get your mother on here she will love it here. When I got my endlers I was told that they could be registered since they were so rare but I really don't know anything about that. I'm with your mom mine are not mixing with anything they have their own tank.

Wow! Endler breeding! My Endler X Guppies was a mistake, she came from the shop pregnant and just never stopped churning them out!

I'm so glad she's taken up the hobby, my parents sort of have to when I go to univeristy LOL!

Update on my spreading MTS. My mother will soon (within the next week) be setting up a fish room
I'm sure all be helping her, (which I'll gladly do) How exciting is that!! I really must have this disease BAD. I not only spread MTS but the virus is soo strong it takes over the "host" in a matter of months and completely runs rampant. Taking over all ability to think clearly and tunnels all energy into fish keeping..hmmm..Maybe I ought to make a Dr. appt.

Sooo I'm planning a little secrete project for tonight. My mom is down at the church helping out, she'll be there all night. Me and Jeff are going over there and letting the kids play while we do her fishroom for her!!. She'll be shocked when she comes home and I'll just love every minute of it!!. Wish us luck.

Thanks for the link Carol!!. I'll have to see if we can't find that particular strain in there. I will let her know what you said. She doesn't really even think anything about it. She just thinks they are pretty the way they are and understands they are a special fish.

Cesch, that is great that you got your mom to fall in love with fishies! Did you get her fishroom set up? I wish my parent had MTS. Then they might stop looking at me like I'm crazy

We didn't get the fish room set up. We got there and they were already home..lol..I offered to help her do it then but she didn't feel like moving everything out of there so we'll sneek over some other time. Too bad though because I was all ready to do it..lol.
