Um, discus tank went from 58 to 75+gallons...

I was talking about what to do with my mbuna, and since I do want to breed them instead of being limited on the fish I keep to breed, my husband suggestted getting another tank (like 75 or 90g)
Um.. good suggestion, he thought it would be cool to put it in the center of our living room as a "room divider" since we have a huge livingroom/den.

Hmmm.... more mbuna, and a HUGE discus tank.... Sounds good to me...
I have been reading about Takashi Amano's aquariums and I am going to get a couple of his books and hopefully do a real "natural" design for the discus tank. I don't know what to think, my husband pushing me to ge a bigger tank, and loved the idea of the "natural" design...

I guess off to looking around for a big tank.... (not getting until Sept-Oct unless a craigslist deal comes up).

Hello folks. I can't wait to see the finished product. I saw some pictures once that I think were by Takashi Amano and his aquariums....it was a white room with so many beautiful tanks, open tops, heavily planted and it all was so amazing. Too, I think I found the link from someone on this site. Maybe someone will post it again Have fun!

I just did a search for Takashi Amano on my search engine and youtube has some wonderful videos of his aquariums.

I went to the Aquatic Gardeners' Association convention in November and saw a planted tank demo by Amano himself. It was mind-blowing! He showed us step by step how he sets up a planted tank, and the end result was amazing. Angela, if you want to learn more about his tanks, I'd suggest picking up any of the volumes of "Nature Aquarium World" by Amano.

I was searching for his books on amazon. There is one place I am going to look before I buy on amazon, its a huge used books store in Knoxville. I find books there no more than 10$.

That would have been awesome to see his works in person!
