It may not be a question of which looks better, I would be concerned with all the cords near the baby swing. Can baby reach over and grab them?

In the top pic, are you going to be able to lift the lid to do water changes?

I like the aesthetics of #1, but in addition to concerns about being able to get in the tank, I'd also be concerned about the stand sitting on the rocky part of the floor. Is it wobbly at all?

Yea, I'd have to say that functionality should be the decision maker, not aesthetics.

How cool would it look if you were able to move the stone above the quarter circle on the right out and put a bow front there? That would look excellent!!!
