Hope you had fun!
My preggo but is INDOORS during this heatwave... I can't take it... I think they should have a pregnant womans heat index as well... like for 90 it should say 130 cause thats what it feels like.

I hope Carson gets his special ear plugs tomm, we can water park it a few days... (I don't know if they give them the "special fitted" ones the same day or not.

Many years ago one of the radio stations in Chattanooga Tn sponsored this type of raft race on the river. The participants had to design their own rafts and the best designed raft as well as the one that got to the finish line first won a prize. My husbands company sponsored a raft and the guys tied truck tire inner tubes together and each guy had his own tube. It was hilarious and all had the time of their lives.
Ok Aquarist48 time to come tell us all about the race

The raft race was a big success. There were more people participating this year than the previous years. Some really neat rafts were used. I don't think anyone cared about winning or losing they just wanted to get here for the food. (too I think a good many of them were a little buzzed ) LOL We had 40 to 50 people here after the race was over, for dinner. Some people started showing up about 3pm and it lasted until almost midnight.
I take pictures the old fashioned way with a 35mm Nikon and I took about 15 pictures. I will see if there are any that I can post once I get them developed. I think most of them have people in them so I don't know that I should post them without their permission. We'll see.
I was exhausted yesterday and slept most of it. LOL We had an electrical brown out about 8pm the night of the race. The heat was awful, AC's running full blast it's no wonder our neighborhood lost power. Luckily it was only off for about an hour.
I didn't get to participate in the race myself because we had to prepare for the dinner after. My partner outdid himself on the food (I mentioned previously that he is a chef by profession). People around here will eat anything that he prepares. lol
Thanks for the interest and I'll see what I can do about some pictures Have a great week everyone!

OK, now I have to ask, what kind of cooking does your chef do? Is he a chef for a restaurant/caterer? I'm in love with food and do some catering here where I live-dinner parties and such.
Oh and Im glad your raft race was a success/or was it the food that was a success?

Hello Beth. He's trained classically as a French chef. He cooks anything and everything. He started out as a cook in the Air Force and continued his training after that. Currently he has an industrial kitchen outside. It used to be a 2 car car port that we converted. He cooks for the neighborhood on some weekends and all holidays.
I would have to say that the food was the main success. Everyone knows they will leave here with full bellies and to go plates for left overs. It's not a good idea to arrive here "fashionably late" because these people are here to eat
