bottom feeders feeding at the top?

i had a kuhli loach who was 3 inches long and would eat at the top of the tank with all the other fish at feeding time. it was so amazing to watch (he is now dead due to an incident with a crayfish). i also have a cory catfish that does the same and a clown loach. does anyone else have a bottom feeder doing this?

(sorry, i didn't know where to put this thread so i put it here in GD)

I once had a huge pleco that would go upside down on top of the water and create a little suction with his lips and suck all of the flakes in...lol. That was back in the I have a 9 inch pleco in a 20 gal high tank days. He was prob starving as I didn't know to feed him veggies or even algae wafers. He just ate what went in the tank .

He would go to the top quick and grab a gulp of air but when he did this he was feeding you could see him sucking the flakes in.
