hiya guys i have just been given about 20 guppies and i think most of them are male! how can i tell what are male or female also i have 8 babies can anyone help me with some advice on what to do?

Males are a bit smaller in the body and larger in the fins. The males also as a general rule have a lot more color than the girls. Males have a modified fin in the anal area that looks like a stick where the females anal fin looks like a fan. Most females will be larger and rounder in the belly. Altho some females can have a lot of tail color they are mostly greyish in the body.

If you are going to put all these guppies in the same tank, include some floating plants or java moss for the babies to hide in. Otherwise, they may be eaten by the larger fish. You can feed the babies finely crushed flakes, baby brine shrimp, tiny amounts of mashed hard-boiled egg yolk.
