Hello. I searched and found this thread. Check it out and see if it answers your questions. Master Test Kit vs Test Strip results for NitrAtes

For me personally it's easier to read the results on the liquid test kits compared to the strip tests. I think the liquid test kits give a more pin pointed result.

Well wouldn't it be easier to sell them in stores?I haven't seen one nor has one been brought to my attention at the pet store I visit for tank accessories. So I'm going directly to the company that made them and get a refund.

The API liquid kit gives you more tests than the strips.
I forget how many.....in the 100's.

Why would stores sell you something that lasts so long when they can sell you strips that you go through quickly and have to buy more?
Petsmart carrys the API master kit.

I had some leftover test strips when I got my API master kit and when I tested the water with both the results were not even similar. I just threw them out. I have had the API kit forever, it never runs out. I think you can even replace individual tests if you run out of one kind but don't need the others. Some bottles last longer the others. For instance the low range pH bottle only uses 3 drops per test.

I got mine at petsmart. Did you try to return them and they refused? If they did it may be because that's what they use themselves to test customer's water because it's quicker.
