Brands of pH

i have an aqua one pH test kit. if i use a different brand (NOT aqua one) of pH test liquid (the yellow stuff that changes color) and use the color chart, (the Aqua one brand) will it still work?

As long as both kits contain the same color chart I don't see the difference. However, I'd hate for you to get false readings and end up losing your cycle or something. Let's wait for some more answers before you make a decision.
