Best Gift Ever!!!

Today my parents came over today to see our new apartment, and they brought me a housewarming gift........a new preformed pond for my patio!!!

I am so excited The 55 gallon tank that I was using for a pond sprung a leak during the move, so I had been keeping all my pond fish in a rubbermaid tub. They are loving the new pond (of course I had to set it up as soon as my parents left) Next week I am going to go with my dad to get some nice stackable stones to set around it to make it look nicer and I am also going to get some new pond plants. I will try to get some pics once I finish getting everything in place. I was very suprised that my parents decided to get me a pond. They think I am crazy with all my fish, so I never expected them to get me anything that holds more fish, lol.

That is sooo amazing Kate!!.. Your a lucky little duck!!. I would love to have a outdoor pond. I'm very jealous. I'm dying to see pics. On Freecycle here there are like 3 people giving away pond plants. I guess cleaning it out before the summer. You ought to check there if you haven't already.

Thanks Cesch Good idea...I will have to check freecycle next weekend. I don't have time to go and pick up any plants until then. You know you could technically set up an indoor pond in that fishroom that I am oh so jealouse of

Thanks Lucy It needs a lot of work still. I will take pics when its all set up.

Its funny because I showed my dad the pic that Carol posted of her daughter's pond about a month ago. I was going on and on about how gorgeous I thought it was. He told me today that after he saw the picture, he wanted to get me one just like it. I can't believe how sweet he is! This looks very similar to Carol's daughter's pond, but its smaller and kind of a kidney shape. I am so excited to have a new project

Hi Kate
I am so happy for you.. what a thoughtful and wonderful house warming gift. Considering you had to tear down tanks when you left your other place, this will help you feel at home in the new place and Im sure it is going to be soooo nice when you have it all set up.

You are so lucky. Me and my wife want it to put one for a while but now she took the spot to plant some Tulips.

Thanks Kate I can't wait to get it set up. My poor fishies though. They have been transfered between 4 different containers within the last week. At least this was the last time I had to move them. First was the rubbermaid tub for the move, the next was the glass tank (pond), when it sprung a leak I moved them to another rubbermaid tub, and now they are in the new pond. They must be so confused, lol.

Thanks Tulips are very pretty. Container ponds don't take up much room. Maybe you could find another spot

Congrats,, I wanna see pics!
I had plans to set one up this summer, but pregnancy came lol... I decided next spring I will do it. I just didn't want to get into something like that w/o being physically able to do all of it myself.

It gets to cold here to have me a pond but if you put up a pic I could put it on a stick outside in my front yard and pretend it's mine...
