bad day in my aquarium

i had a filter mishap overnight! i was checking on my endler tank tonight and noticed that the flow out of the HOB filter was almost non-exhistant. after a little inspection i noticed that the intake filter section had fallen off, leaving nothing but about a 1/2" tube sucking anything small into it...

i unplugged the filter, removed the entire intake tube assembly and stuck right before the impeller were a ghost shrimp, 2 female endler (full grown), and one of my albino cory cats. i feel absolutely horrible about it!

Ohh how sad... I am so sorry. As Aquarist posted, some thing are just out of our control and it was an accident and not your fault. A good reminder for us all to make sure our intake tube extensions are securely in place.

I'm so sorry. I've lost several fishes myself this week and it's sad for sure.

thanks everybody, i mainly made this post to help make people aware of the possiblity of this happening to them. i dont really understand how the section of the tube fell off, it actually snaps into place. the only thing i can figure is that one of my plecos rammed into it. i made sure that it wont happen again tho, silicone FTW.
