Moving Day!

I've decided to move my fish tanks sooner rather than later and try to get everyone moved today instead of next week! Hopefully all goes well with my 8 tanks (one 20, two 10s, three 5s, and two 2.5s) and all my babies! Wish me luck!

Good luck with the move Alex You are smart to move the tanks early before you move the rest of your stuff over. Its hard enough to move without worrying about fishtanks!

thanks all! i ended up having to take two trips, which isn't so bad because i only live twenty minutes away. so far no casualties, but i had to transport my copper betta girls all together so their fins got torn up quite badly. i'm not very happy about it but since they're in the 20 gallon sorority together i couldn't move them separately. one of the girls isn't looking good at all, i think she got picked on the most so i'll have to keep a close eye on her.

FYI, corycat barbels hurt if they get you!!! hermes got me while i was trying to catch him with his barbel and it stings! i'm pretty sure he actually made me bleed a little, but at least it wasn't a clown loach!

I'm glad everyone seems to be doing well Alex I am sorry to hear about your betta's tails. Nawty girls I hope that the one that got picked on pulls through okay. I did not know that about cories' barbels! Ouch! I'm sorry you got poked by one

I hope everything else goes smoothly! Sorry about the little girls. Our little betta friends are amazingly resilient, so hopefully all will work out!

As far as the cories, ouch! From what I read, the ends of their pectorals are VERY SHARP and can easily puncture the skin. I also read that they emitted a toxin that created the stinging sensation, but I'm not sure how true that is as I had read it online. I'm pretty lucky actually that that did not happen to me; as I had not read anything of the sort until after I had already used my hand to put them in my tank in February (I hate nets).

they certainly are, i'm sure she'll be alright now that they're all back in the 20 gallon. i'm just going to keep a close eye on her for the next few days or so.

yeah, they hurt! it only lasted for a few minutes though, so other than that no major problems

yeah, and they're still fairly young so their fins should grow back in no time

lol, i would say (from recent experience ) that it's very true! i didn't know that either but i certainly felt it! it stung for five minutes or so but it's gone away by now.

I know this is a few days old, but the sharp part on cories isn't their barbels like whiskers. It's like they have little switchblades on the front of their faces. It's way easier to see on a big loach like a clown, if you want a picture.
