I have a SONY /several years old digital camera. Not even worth trying any longer to take pics of my tank and it's inhabitants. I don't have the knowledge to go out and buy a new camera, I don't know what to ask or what to look for-other than that I would like to be able to take pics of my fish, plants, etc...What else? Ummm; suggestions on particular camera or a website that I can educate myself on this topic?

dpreview.com is great site for camera info, sometimes it's a bit of information overload, but there's LOTS of great info, as well as a beginners forum where people are great at giving advice.

there are a few threads on cameras here too with lots of info, i'll look for them for you

Alex: i looked through old threads and missed the one you posted here. Thanx. I will check out that website too. So much info out there, I just didnt know where to get it.

well what type of camera are you looking at? It'll be easier to focus your search when you know what you want out of it.

Like for example, if you want something small to carry around you'll probably want a point and shoot.
