New fish...ich in big tank?

On happy note, I received some of Shawnie's babies today - 5 black convict fry & 1 pink adult convict. So gorgeous! They are all in my 20 gal. tank right now. I had plans to put the adult in my 55 gal., but it LOOKS like my Ram may have....ICH spots. Arrrrg. AGAIN? What I don't get is that it had nothing when I bought it, nothing in the week QT, and nothing in week since he's been in my 55 gal. I'm not sure if it's ich or a fungus. One of the other Rams seemed to hve died of a fungus. I hope it's not ich, why would it JUST show up now? Nothing new has been added to the tank, only routine WC's.
On another unhappy note - the 75 gal. that was supposed to be given to me seems to have disappeared. The person hasn't e-mailed me back (3 messges) in week. I'm kinda upset, because now I actually hve to invest in another large tank for my Cons & Parrot (who's getting super aggressive).

There's a wonderful article at, www.ask.com about Ich. The information has been priceless to me when treating Ich. Knowing how it works was so helpful.

Congrats on the new babies! I hope you aren't getting ICH breakout in your tank. Good luck.

Thanks everyone, I def. know all about ich - I've had it twice before. Today the Ram still has those same 2 spots. The spots look smaller than ich, but I'm still super worried.

Sorry to hear about your ram Could it be velvet? My bettas got it a while back and it looks very similar to ich, but it is MUCH harder to treat. Congrats on your new fishies from Shawnie though You will have to post some pics when you get a chance!

I know right. As if I don't have enough to worry about with finals & such.

I'll look into Velvet....although it doesn't look much brighter than ich.

Haha, that tank is diatom central. Tried cleaning it today, but I gave up.
The adult is def. a female, as she's showing a blunt breeding tube.

I only found the one teeny one. I never found a body or anything to the other.
My Ram isn't doing well, so the adult may be going in my 55 gal. soon.
