Happy Earth Day Everyone!!!

Have you hugged your tree today?

<Insert image by that amazing artist who did the images of tigers and other animals against the image of the globe and stars ect. who I can't find atm>

Thanks Red! It's a great reminder that we all have to do our share.
How about some examples of how we can help?

I water my plants, inside and out with used tank water.
We also recycle.
Instead of throwing out things like those buckets that cat litter come in we use them for storage of things like bird seed.

Here's my suggesions,
  • Turn off your lights
  • Take a walk today instead of driving
  • Take the bus
  • recycle
  • Use a cloth shopping bag instead of plasic
  • USE A TRAVEL MUG INSTEAD OF A PAPER COFFEE CUP TODAY
  • By something fair trade, by a "green" product.

Good Idea Lucy.

P.S. If anyone knows the name of that artist please let me know I want to put one of his images on this thread b/c they're perfect.

Great idea guys,
Here is what we do
-Turn of lights
-Take short showers
-I only buy Green works cleaning supplies. They work great by the way
-We use the cloth grocery bags
-We recycle EVERYTHING
-We have our own garden and use no fertilizers or chemicals
-I buy organic when I can and support local farmers who grow organic
-Used tank water for plants and garden
-Never buy plastic or Styrofoam cups, plates or silverware
-I only use cold water to wash our cloths then hang them on the line when I can
-This is the biggest change we've made..Every single light in our house is a engery saving bulb. Which there are a lot of....49 to be exact..lol..It was a expense at first but we can def tell the difference now.

Today when I got to school my friend goes... well, I guess I'll burn another tree today. I laughed pretty good for a while, he's not serious though.

I'm technically in Phi theta Kappa too! but I really don't care or do anything with it. I qualified and figured "why not? It'll look good on a resume."

I had no idea it was earth day...I guess my WWF mail got lost in during the move. They normally send a flood of letters for things like earth day and earth hour.

I always live as green as I can, I don't need a special day to do my part. Being poor makes it easier...saving energy saves money, haha.

I love CFL's, mostly because you can get a color beside "orange red". Incandescent and even halogens make me sleepy. I think it's because they're a similar color to sunset, and the body thinks "sunset? time for sleep!"

I love 5500K "daylight." I can stay up all night and not even feel tired, it's pretty cool.

I'm an officer for my chapter, Alpha Nu Chi, so I'm pretty active.
It looks amazing on any resume, we have colleges recruiting members of our all the time, Columbia offered the president a full tuition scholarship. It's great. Of course now there's the pressure to keep my GPA up...

I feel this would be appropriate.

It was while reading this passage that made me decide on a career in the natural sciences. Carl Sagan, with his awkward but distinct voice, always sends chills down my body.

Happy Earth Day!

My sister was the president, and she talked me into it. I'm glad I did though..Like you said it speaks volumes on a resume.
