Since we hear so much about the negatives in people and our society I thought I’d share this story with you.

My wife was out with a friend last night when they happened on an intersection with an ambulance and police. Passing the intersection they observed an ambulance attendant performing CPR…. On a German Sheppard.

Returning 20 minutes later from a short stop they passed the same intersection only to see the same attendant still performing CPR on the dog.

As much as I’d like to let you know how this story ends, as no child was abused and no one was murdered the story failed to make our local paper.

However the story ended it warms my heart that members of our ambulance services and police services would come to the aid of a dog. This is beyond the services of these departments but demonstrates that kindness still exists in mankind.

Thats so sweet... We learned CPR in health class a few weeks ago, and they did teach us that it works on animals. I didn't really think much of it at the time, but this story just kind of reinforces it.

WOW...I'm totally blown away at this..That is amazing!!!...I'm always so impressed when somebody goes above and beyond. Maybe you could call the newspaper and report it...I would say this person deserves to be recognized. It's good to know there are still good people out their trying to make the score even of all he bad stuff that people do. Thanks Dozey for sharing..That is an amazing story and I"m so proud of whoever it was!!

That was great to hear! You could be our investigative reporter, find out how the dog is and let us all know while acknowledging the fireman who gave CPR.

OK... I wasn't going to but I will try to follow up the story. It will be difficult as I wasn’t there, don’t know what departments responded and not even really sure who to call to ask. Gees I sure hope the Sheppard survived, I’d hate to find out otherwise.

When my wife told me the story it touched me at the time and wanted to share with others that humanity still exists. But really now that I think about it I really only focused on this one story and didn’t see what was in front of my face the whole time.

FishLore is a community of people that have come together to ask advise to best care for their fish and a community of people willing to give back to others who have not yet learned.

Many, many member here already know how to care for their fish. Yet they are still here providing assistance to others so they too can save a German Sheppard fish.

Yes my original post was an example of kindness but this forum is an excellent example of kindness.
