hi everyone,
i went to petsmart yesterday to get some stress coat +... while i'm there a lady comes in to get fish and tells the kid working there she did what he said " run tank 24-48 hours" and she'll be ready for fish ... so i take upon myself to tell her DONT get fish yet your tank is not ready ... kid says " water test are fine " so i had my camera on me and showed her some pics and said i did'nt get these fish to live by doing what he's telling you ... she got an API test kit and was going to get some raw fish to go fishless .... she said all she'll ever get from them again was products not imformation

It's hard to randomly educate people in these situations- so it's nice to hear when it works!

Its always a good thing when it works.. sometimes it doesnt and boy.. do I regret saying anything at those times. Everyone's an expert and most fish shoppers in these stores do not want advice from a fellow shopper. They just want to assume since the employee works for the fish store, they know best.

I always get a kick out of this, when pet store employees say such things. What on earth do they think they're going to find in water that doesn't have fish? I mean, I know that sometimes there is ammonia and even nitrite in tap water, but for the most part; OF COURSE it's fine, there's no fish yet!

I went to Petsmart today to get Prime and ghost shrimp, and I was impressed!

They did have some bettas in cups, but they had 2 in SEPERATE tanks (they looked about 5-10 gallon).

There was someone asking about some fish (I didn't catch what it was) and the worker said, "No, those will not work with your guppies".

Thats cool u helped some people. When I go to petsmart the workers always tell me something that I already know. It's kinda sad that I, a 14 year old boy is better than them at their own jobs
