New fishes!!

I got 5 juvenile Cromides and 2 Clown Loaches. I sat in front of my tank for 2hrs just watching them.
Does anyone else here watch their fish at night, with a small flash light? Or am I just weird?

Congratz on your new fishies!

lol I use a flashlight to check on them in the middle of the night if they are not feeling well or just to check on them to make sure, if I am awake. lol

I use a flashlight to inspect the bottom of my tank. I have a metal stand so I can crawl under it and shine a light up to see if there are any gas bubbles forming or if there are any discolorations in the gravel that might occur in low oxygen environments.

But if I need to see my fish at night I just turn on the lamps.

Oh wow, I have never been able to find them in the LFS's by me. They are gorgeous fish! Aren't they supposed to be kept in brackish tanks though? Hmmmm, maybe I'm just sleepy right now though

I do add salt to all my tanks. I've been watching them closely for more then 5 weeks now. 4 of which while they were at the pet store where they added no salt at all. I've read that if your wanting to breed them then you need to add sea water. My pH is at 6.8 which I will slowly raise to about 7.8-8. Between 7-9 is ideal. Everything else is right on. I do love these lil fishes and they are so much fun to watch. What a wonderful addition to my tank.
If I am able to breed them successfully (which I plan on trying) I will for sure look you up MissMTS. Till then, wish me luck :}
