Have you ever noticed?

Have you ever noticed that when you go to a fish store that if you take a look at some of those little 5 gallon setups that they have pictures of like the biggest fish ever for that tank? When I went to Wal Mart the other day I saw a 6 gallon setup that had a picture of a discus in it! I hope that no one actually does that. The I saw a net that had a picture of a betta on it but the net was for a pond! Anyboday ele notice these things?

Yeah, even my husband, who's not into fish, noticed all the mollies on the box my 5g .

Scary, thought, isn't it? People see those pics and naturally think it's ok to have so many fish in the tank.

It's interesting to see those 2 gallon setups, with like a million neons on the box.

the photo on the box for the bio-orb had like 15 white clouds...but I'm pretty certain they were photoshopped in because the stupid "orb" shape doesn't allow you to actually see the fish.

I asked about that once at a very good mom & pop LFS and the answer was as she the owner ran up and down the hallway of fish tanks while looking at me said "you see all these individual tanks are like one big huge 1000 gallon tank because they are all hooked up to the same filtering system and share the same water, that's why". But I still think 20 fish in a 5 gallon is allot.
