Greatest band

What are your choices? For me since I play guitar and grew up when bands were great (today not so great) all power chords no talent(just my opinion) For me of Hendrix greatest guitar player ever and second SRV since he came as close to Hendrix on Voodoo chile unless I missed Korn or linkin park version they suck. Ok not in any order so I'll give you the list.A number 1 is tough. LED Zeppelin,AC/DC(Angus is great)Rolling stones,Rush,Kiss,Judas Priest,Fleetwood Mac,Eagles,Black Sabbath,Skynyrd,Aerosmith,Clapton/Cream,Beatles(some of it-sgt pepper),Van Halen(no Hagar-gay),Metallica,Doobie brothers,Allman Brothers,Maiden,Nugent. Well I would like to hear your favs these are some of mine.

I've pondered the thought on the greatest guitar player of all time and through serious contemplation Jimmy Page just edges Jimi Hendrix. It was a tough realization but listen to Dazed and Confused off the Song Remains the Same LP and you will know why. The man is a wizard! But for the greatest band? It comes down to the power trio of the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd. They are equally powerful forces who's dominance can never be questioned. But for some others, I dig on the Flaming Lips, Radiohead, Umphreys McGee, Soundtribe Sector Nine, moe, Jimi Hendrix, Sigur Ros, and the Kinks.

PinkFloydPuffer what's you're favourite Floyd album?

I definitely agree with the Beatles, Led Zep, and Floyd being the top 3...

Favorite Floyd album? You can't do that to me! There are so many amazing albums that it's way too hard to choose! It'd be between Meddle, DSOTM, and Wish You Were Here probably......

well whiskey hill unfortuanately im a product of the early 80's to modern metal scene, by that i mean old school metallica, slayer, anthrax and exodus just to name a few but to answer the question my all time favorite would have to be pantera ,followed very closely by shadows fall, two of the best heavy metal guitarists ever (in my own opinion of course), play or played in those bands(dime pantera, jon donais shadows fall)as i also play guitar those are the deciding factors in my choice, also i can not forget another favorite of mine is ,in this moment

Was just thinking of another that slipped my mind is Leslie west from Mountain often overlooked as one of the greats.Johnny Winter,Jeff Beck,Robin Trower, would even throw in Jeff Healey(RIP) impressive for a blind man.Rhandy Rhodes another great loss. Would anyone agree that today's music lacks talent from a players standpoint power chords makes up most songs today there are no leads in this music. And American Idol is a complete joke,Karaorke night on national television.

You can find good modern music, you just have to look harder to find it.

While not among the greatest bands, The Cars just make me all happy.

Classic rock
1.Skynyrd
2. Way way to many others to list, all that matters is Skynyrd is my number one.

Metal
1. Gotta be metallica...kill em all through yes even the black album, anything after was garbage
2. Pantera
3. And although I wouldnt label these guys as heavy metal, but there in the same genre Guns and Roses
4. Crowbar
5. Danzig

New age metal
1. Korn
2. Acid Bath ( doubt any of yalls heard of these guys)
3. Tool ( not sure if I'd call them metal)
4. Rage against the machine

On a side not I like alot of classic rock grew up listening to it while my Mom and Uncles all played it constantly. But Im a big country music fan as well, even went through a period in the military where I listened to rap, I enjoy Music GOOD music
