GSP with a bubble eye :[

I have 3 GSP's (green spotted puffer) and one has developed a cloudy sac over his one eye.. his belly is still white and he swims around fine and eats as normal, but I was curious as to what this bubble thing is on his eye. I also have 5 angel fish in the same tank, and they all get along just fine. No fighting or anything like that or they would be seperated. Ive heard of pop eye but someone else said that pop eye is when a fish's eye falls off or is popped out of head. So if thats true then it cant be that. Any suggestions?

welcome to fishlore jumokesi!

what size tank are they all in? did you de worm your puffer? is the tank brackish, saltwater, or freshwater?

sorry for all the questions but they'll help the other members figure out what's wrong with your GSP. pinkfloydpuffer is the puffer expert around here and she should be around soon a lot of other members have taken to puffers as well and should be able to help you, too!

Here's a pic of what popeye usually looks like:

In Dr. Klaus Ebert's book Aqualog: The Puffers of Fresh and Brackish Waters he notes that GSPs are prone to fungal infections of the eye that are harmless and will go away of their own accord. Could it possibly be a fungal infection or popeye that is the problem?

The first step to clearing whatever your fish has is to get them in a brackish water tank! GSP's will not survive long in freshwater, thats probably the reason they haven't attacked your angel fish! I've never kept brackish, but someone should be able to help you out there.
