Placed orders with bigals and petsolutions over the past weekend. Total of 5 packages are being sent out. They were all due to arrive today until yesterday. Somehow all the packages got 'lost' from the original packages and were 'rerouted' so now I'm getting stuff today, tomorrow, saturday and Monday. I am so ticked off about this as the community I live in has gone down hill lately with the economy being the way it is... example just yesterday in the ritzy community behind the woods behind us had about 20 police vehicles from highway patrol, county, and city. Evidently huge drug bust went down over there... may have been going on this whole time but a lot of folks(kids) around here resort to dealing drugs when they can't find good paying jobs which are nonexistent like they used to be..


anyhow aside from the rant, I now have to plan to be home every day to wait for the packages to be delivered so nothing goes 'missing'. I guess the good thing about the issue is that the new eheim 2026 and the new hagen t5ho fixture and bulbs ARE scheduled for delivery today.. out for delivery now supposedly. Everything else while I could have used it today is not as essential as these 2 pieces so that's good I spose.

Anyhow.. I'm just ranting mostly.. it's beena bad start to the day.

Sorry your day is off to a rough start! I had a similar problem at Christmas (even though I paid $$$$$$ for shipping that would "fit my schedule" I ended up having to take a day off work and drive 40 miles round trip to go pick it up myself at the UPS station. I was unhappy to say the least. Ah well...Whaaata are ya gonna do?? lol

Ohh that is a disappointment when we really need our items from shipping.
Ive bought from BigAls before and they were fast w/ delivery. So it must have been a local problem with the mail? What a shame... but as you said, the bright side is that you get the filter and light (hopefully ) today.

you can probably call and have the items held back at the facility so you can go pick them up. It's still inconvenient, but I think less inconvenient than wasting 5 days waiting for packages.

I'm going to venture a guess that they took up too much space in the truck, from the way it sounds you ordered some large items. Management loves to "optimize" the routes...and we all know what happens when the suites start optimizing. lol.

Whenever I miss a package I just pick it up at work. Working at UPS does have a few perks.

I hate it when the dispatchers get all crabby about it though, like it's some huge burden even though dozens of "real" customers do the same thing every day. but they have to take the customers' packages out to the guard shack, while I'm right there looking at my package as they try to pull the "well I don't know if we were able to find it blah blah blah"

I have ordered from ken's fish, petsmart, petco, foster and smith, and marinedepot

Out of those my fav on shipping (price and ability to get to me in a decent time) is ken's fish, then marinedepot.

Honestly the others I would only use them again if they had a killer deal on something I couldn't find here at my LFS.

(I dread my fishstore trip Sunday, I have about 100$ in just supplies I need of coarse including live sand for the 36g so I can begain the transition)

No no, these are packages that are en route from ohio/new york/pennsylvania. The mixup is in delivery somewhere between the distribution center here in town and the truck they are on n ow. They aren't possible o be picked up yet. The ones coming in on saturday that wont be delivered til Monday won't be in until late in the evening Saturday, after the main facility closes for pickups. Otherwise, I would certainly do as you suggested.

UPS said the boxes came in at the same time on the same truck in NY but half the shipment as unloaded and placed on 1 truck that was going out right then, and the other half of the shipment was unloaded and placed on a truck leaving 3 hours later. That 3 hours is somehow enough to get it delayed to not make it yesterday but make it today. Pet solutions just had a flatout mixup with my light fixture and canopy. They didn't even mail the canopy even though they said it was in stock (called them prior to ordering to verify it was in stock as I needed it asap)
