I was wondering how would one bring fish back from foreign countries like Hong Kong and if anyone knows the general shipping costs.

That is an interesting question. Bringing back your own fish? Having someone send a fish? LIvestock importers exporters have to have licensing, and there are restrictions on what can be imported into the US. I found this out when i tried to DIY from Canada. There are forms, filings and fees because it is livestock. I found the easiest way was to go through a loacl LFS who kenw the process and let them deal with it. It was a KOI i wanted from a private seller. But it was still expensive, but it sure beat the time i was going to have to spend myself.

Yeah but if you buy the fish yourself extremely cheap from hong kong. But once you can set up a good shipper its really worth it.

I would agree if it is a species that you can't find on the net or like me yuou want that particular one. Again, i would make sure that customs is going to allow that species into the USA if it isn't a common type fish already allowed.
