Puffed-when a thread disappears due to moderating necessity, dies unexpectedly, or goes completely off track.

Sirdarksol I caught a mistake on your original list......should be local fish store--

LFS = Local Pet Store Not to be confused with a Petsmart, Petco, or Walmart, which are usually referred to by name or as "big chain."

"Bumping" is artificially moving a thread to the top of the "New Post" list (as well as the top of the sub-forum it's in) by putting a pointless post (often just the word "bump") in. The thread gets bumped to the top of the list.

Most of the time, bumping is a breach of netiquette, but when a thread has some important information and a reminder is needed about the content of that thread, bumping the thread is acceptable (I've done so recently to remind people not to curse, and Angela has done so recently to remind people about an excellent cichlid website).
