day 2 w the guppies in a 5day cycled tank, fingers still crossed and they are still looking happy & healthy. i fed them earlier, they were sorta dumb with getting the idea they were being fed but when the food (flakes) was spotted they displayed ravenous appetites. a couple of the flakes were definitely bigger than 1 eye which i understand is the size of their stomach, i thought they'd tear a piece off and share but no, the couple of lucky ones that saw the big ones gobbled them right up. hopefully everybody got some. there's been some pooping going on since then.
i also did a partial
water change a while after feeding. the vacuum took a couple of tries but is delightfully easy to use! i took out about 10% and replaced it with conditioned water, same temperature by my estimate. they hung out at the bottom of the tank for a few minutes after the water change but they look happy and fluttery right now, swimming about the whole tank.
before getting the fish i thought i'd have fun naming them but they all look so alike to me i can't tell one from the other, is it normal to name fish or that just strange?
