Too much fish stuff, where to store?!!?!!

I was going through my aquarium cabinet & it is so full I keep knocking everything over. I have an aquarium hose/vaccum, filter cartridges, algae scrubber, test kit, flakes, start right, Ick med, plant food, 2 more water conditioners, betta meds, aquarium salt, Melafix, shrimp pellets, 2 different giant bottles flake food, nearly empty bottle of prime, betta food, blood worms, tubifex worms, cichlid pellets & a couple other things that I can't reach behind the aquarium. Some of the stuff I don't even use. I want to keep it all together so I don't lose anything. It's a bit much to put under just one cabinet. Does anybody else have a better organised system than I do? Or is yours a mess too?

We now have 4 fish tanks in our livingroom. My husband and I share everything so I was trying to keep it all in one cabinet so he didn't always have to ask where this or that was. I think we may have gone a bit overboard and I know it's only going to get worse. LOL!

I have the same problem. I have 3 tanks with cabinets (the other tanks don't have the luxury of cabinets!)and have them organised so one cabinet holds all the filter material, I holds food and water conditioners/treatments etc.. (and the fluval and some power cords) the third cabinet is a bit difficult to get to so it holds anything not under the above mentioned categories and the fluval and power cords etc...

I have boxes labeled under the cabinets so i know where all the air pumps and air tubing, stones etc.. are. Like wise i have a box for the food and medicines and water conditioners etc.. It still may look a mess but its an organized mess.

I also have a few nails banged into the insides of the cabinet to hang the fish nets and siphons up.

I have also got to the point i have labeled each power cord with what it is so i can pull the heater or filter whilst doing water changes easily without tracing cables everywhere.

I would recommend another fish tank with a cabinet so you can spread things out easier!

I have actually took over the large tub like sink in my laundry room w/ the python, box of old filters, and buckets. Then since I have a 3 year old I keep all my chemicals in the cabinet above my stove (I have to climb up myself to get up there), then I leave the food on the entertainment center on the top. I have my fish stuff spread out, but that cabinet is huge that I keep my chemicals in so it helps.

Anna:
I have been meaning to label my cords as well, I know my biowheel and eheim cords where I shut them off during waterchanges for cleaning. I would hate to see my husband trying to figure them out. I will def have to label them.

I like the idea of adding another fishtank/stand its a lot more room for the fish supplies!

Hmmm, a cart sounds about right for all my gear for storage. Good thinking Soldier

Angela - I used labels used for computers to label all the lights and heaters etc.. I found it sad to realize i have 8 heaters going for all the betta tanks and only 3 lights and 4 filters! (I don't use filters in the spawning tubs or grow out tubs - i prefer daily waterchanges) and I have 1 betta falx tank unheated as they prefer cooler water.
I also wrote all the numbers down on pieces of paper as a quick reference chart for emergencies.

Great idea, Anne.

I have a big plastic storage tote I throw everything into.
The food I keep by the tanks.

I also labeled all my cords - it makes water changes easier. It's such a simple thing but you'd be amazed at how convenient you find it! I keep my hoses and hardware for my makeshift python in a big bucket off one of my bathrooms where I do water changes for my two small tanks. I rinse everything off and toss it in the "cleaning bucket"
As for chemicals, meds, food and other misc - it helps to have a 6' long tank - that's alot of storage space underneath!!
