Well let's see.

I am a TX licensed Private Investigater with a private practice specializing in Fugitive (Bounty hunter for bondsmen) and Assett recovery (repo for banks).

I also drive an armored car on a contractoral basis. I am an armed security guard for various transport companies (whomever pays more) I transport people and assetts.

I am also a PMC (private military contractor) and armed bodyguard, specializing in counter-intelligence.I recently returned from Afghanistan providing security for diplomats and private company employees through Blackwater Worldwide

I have also provided PMC services in Africa,Australia,Germany,Russia.

It's an interesting line of work and definitely stays interesting from time to time it gets pretty hectic. My kids call me "Bubba-Cluba"

(In my sig-pic I am wearing a bullet proof vest under my jacket)

What a diverse and fascinating bunch of jobs here! To all those with jobs, be very thankful.

I'm currently unemployed. I was laid off from my job as editor/chief writer of a magazine and publicist/media relations director. Most of my career has been in television and radio.

I definitely don't envy your position(s). In my line of work,I see many hazards, none compared to yours. My hats off to ALL domestic housewives/caregivers whatever job description someone wants to give you. I couldn't do it. I prefer my line of work,it's much safer.

Blackwater nice! $$ Your line of work sounds pretty good to me.

How would one go about getting into a field such as the security for people and assets? I'd love to get into the field of private security, but am not real sure how or where to break into it. Any suggestions? I'm currently getting my Associates in Criminal Justice now, and a US Marine so i'd like to think my resume would be decent for the job. Knowing companies these days though they all want a 4 year degree and experience.

3 years prior military (I was a Marine as well, for 6 years) no degree required, but helpful. Here's a link to their website application:

The more you can fill out the better with no gaps. PM me and we can talk, there's a lot of info that isn't suitable for an open forum.

yeah...but I was too busy with school to take all the extra hours; early starts and double shifts. Besides, I don't really want to be there anyway. I've grown to hate my job over the years (4 years now )...but at least I get a daily reminder of why I'm still in school. Eyes on the prize.

Slug: UPS probably is the best way to prepare for military service. Intense physical work coupled with a hopeless bureaucracy. I actually lost 70lbs in the first couple months, good stuff. I had a bunch of friends who recently left the military. All of them said UPS was harder, I think we get paid less too!

What do you "do"?

You know, with the 8 hours during which you are not recreating or sleeping?

I'm a lawyer in a non law job, aka Human Resources assistant.

I am a chronic (perhaps terminal) college student. I have been attending college for the last thirteen years. It's the only steady "job" that I have.
