Hey everyone.... I am thinking of getting an elephant nose. Have heard they are rather hard to keep. Any info you guys could share with me would be great...

I've never had one but have read quite abit about it because I wanted one.

They are the kind of fish where you either have 1 or a dozen or so. they emit a weak electrical currant like fresh food, they are hunters, and stay near the bottom/middle area. I remember one lady on fishlore had an elephant nose and a butterfly fish together and that worked out nice. They are usually wildcaught fish, I dont think that they breed in captivity.

We had one for a while, her name was Ellie! she was soooo cute. She pretty much stayed in the rocks and caves and was very territorial. She LOVED bloodworms and wouldn't eat much flake.

She did great, for maybe almost a year, then one day she was dead

no noticable injuries or illnesses, just gone.
