CO2 and PH

Hi everyone

Ive still not managed to get my swords potted and disguised in the tank yet and the arcadia lighting is just resting on the glass shelf on the surface of tank(can stay there for me) but i jsut wanted to know, now that everythings ready, can i be putting the pH down to a level that cories cardinals, rams and cockatoos will like.

Im not sure what this might be but whats strange at the moment is that the rain water being used is just under neutral, then i add peat but the water PH is jsut above neutral, VERY strange.

I have two peat filtration boxes just started up today but again im not sure how affective they are.
So maybe its okay to change the PH with my DIY CO2 even though there arent any plants in the tank yet??

I have an accurate PH monitor stick ready to keep checking the water so it doesnt drop too fast.

So really im just waiting for an all go or a hold your horses you need plants first.
All other parameters are great for what i need, just wanting the PH at a level they will be most happy soona s its a biotope

Cheers

Sam

Don't worry too much about the pH. Looks like that you have managed to make it a bit acidic. That should be fine. Add the DIY CO2 after planting.
