I know it's like he thought...gee instead of actually selling fish...I just take the money and see how long I can stay in business . One guy there said he sent $1500.00!!!

Thanks for the encouragements guys. Really appreciate it!
Theres one problem thou. The lack of crucial evidence of the conversations on him telling me to transfer money to other account. Mostly he sent sms for the instruction, other times he would call. I only started keeping traces of emails when I got suspicious.

Well not much you can do about that now...just make sure you keep track of everything now...he sure seems to of pulled a lot of innocent people into this eh?? So sorry you got caught up in his scam....good luck to all of you!!
BTW I would lodge complaints against every account that he used with you as they are probably his and he is just trying to scam you into leaving him an account to start again with .

As far as crucial evidence for communications involving money transactions, I think we may all have sent to the same name and address if there were money grams, and also the same or similar accounts for all of our transactions. If we collectively submitted this information, and the pattern presented itself, this may hold a firmer ground for further action. Surmounting evidence would point to one source, regardless. I am beginning to wonder, by the amount of people coming forward, if it is indeed one person now....if so, he was VERY busy 24-7 by himself. All these phonecalls, emails and sms. Makes you wonder......

good news, bad news...
Hi guys,
I have just received word from paypal that the case is decided in my favour. Yes, the good new is I have won the case, but bad new is they could not recover any money from those phony accounts to be credited back to me.
So now, I'll have to wait for my debit card bank to reply.
Let's hope for a miracle to happen...

It's scam city over there! Aquabid needs to try to put more effort into protecting buyers.

Hello Everyone,
I am glad the posts are out there for everyone to be aware of.
I just got confirmation from my credit card co. that they will charge back my acct for the loss. They will in turn ask paypal to charge back the money amount to them. This is one of the better things that have come out of all this (better yet, is the_sea 99 getting caught and locked up). I still have not heard from paypal or aquabid regarding my claims.
I pretty much learned that (although easy and convenient) aquabid and paypal have shown very little to no effort in protecting buyers if problems arise - especially if this guy has done it before. That's not to say I will stop using them entirely....I am now a lot more cautious in buying as a result. I have a feeling that the_sea99 has resurfaced under a new username and laughing at what he just caused knowing that aquabid is doing "jack" about it. I should have known it was a red flag when his shipping description said "....will ship legally...." (does that mean he/they normally do it illegally?).
I will also look at the feedback more carefully. Definitely red flags when I see 1-2 users providing tons of feedback ( it was Carnold and Pegasus in my case). Also looked like the_sea99's M.O. was to ease into it with the confidence of good ratings at the beginning-probably from people he knows- (all the while baiting a lot of unsuspecting individuals who want to save a couple bucks - even pursuading them to get into transhipping where he really does the cleaning) then once he has the $$, he walks.
Anyways, this puts buyer beware to a whole new level for me -especially when aquabid and paypal does nothing to midigate the problems.
Thanks for reading the ranting. Good luck to those who are trying to recover their losses.

Hello everyone,
So, as I suspected he is back on Aquabid as a new user. This time it is Seadreams. He is reselling a female betta that I purchased from him as the_sea99. I know this because he is using the same exact picture, but without the male betta pic (he sold it as a pair to me). I have the original pic saved and he is back as Seadreams. Some of you may recognize his other images.

yes i tried that. He just makes another name. Also, aquabid doesnt have any contact information, and the email they give you clearly states that you may not get a response. I have been waiting for two months now. They aslo "wont get involved in civil matters" so i cant have my retaliatory negative feedback removed. I am never using them again thats for sure.

Seadreams goes by Duen and i've found out at other forums that they are a company of several people. 'Duen' and 'Watt' apparently are the ring leaders. This is not the 1st time that they've done this on AB. They have done a good number in the past under assumed user names. Be extra cautious when feedbacks mention duen or watt. Found this at a reputable site http://bettysplendens.com/articles/p...articleid=1028. Many disturbing similarities with the names duen and watt but not certain if they are the ones.
