WELL everyone!! A lil FYI I learned today

Just want to pass on some info that MOST probably know, but Im a NOOB and didnt know

My cell phone decided it was just going to stop working after almost a year...so off to replace it I go because it was still under warrenty...cool new free phone ..

the bad part, I assumed all phones had a card in it but, NOT ALL CELL PHONES COME WITH MEMORY/SIM CARDS!!

Now mind you, I didnt know that..and on my cell, were pics of grandbabies after birth, videos of different events that were amazing(or even embarrassing), and many many phone numbers of friends ive met along the way in life...GONE everyone of them because I thought, same phone but new, just switch the card over...NOT if you dont have a card in it when you bought it!!

So take a sec, and check your cell's if you dont wanna end up like me...LOST

we haven't lost important pics, but if I had a dollar for all the numbers we have lost. We have the razr's and one thing we have found useful w/ them is the cord you can attach to your comp and backup the files from your phone to your comp, so all my videos, pics, numbers are on my comp as well, and on a disk so if my comp crashes...

my phone lacks 1 month before I can get a new one... and its about dead! literally the battery goes from 2 min talk time and the screen is blank. (we have a 2 year contract)

It's best to have anything on the cel backed up to a computer. When Stacy's cel died suddenly, whatever happened wiped out the memory card too.

We are having cell issues too. I am forever losing #s . We switch phones by switching cards and I don't always save them correctly so they go to SIM. I feel your pain.

We are supposed to be able to upgrade but there's a glitch and we can only do it at the store, losing mega discounts. Anyway, all the phones we got with the plan died out gradually. They just went blank. We replaced one 2 xs and 1 3 times before our warranty ran out. Then bought unlocked off ebay. One was bad, wouldn't hold a charge. They replaced it. The second had similar issues but didn't return it - we were too short of phones to do without for a month. This time we messed up : lost one to droppage, one to a water park, one to the washer. To get us through the end of the contract (1st week in Aug), I just bought a cheapy on ebay.

I think we are changing carriers, not that one is better than another but different

I have one of those Samsung Blackjack II's and I'm thinking about cancelling the contract early as I'm tired of it freezing up at least twice a day. Of course, I don't know that until I notice it's locked so I don't want another 18 months of that.

I don't currently have a cell, but Dino does, and his service SUCKS!

US Cellular...

He can talk without going to roaming in the majority of several other states, but if we go on the otherside of the county we live in it is roaming (49 cents a minute.) If we go to the county south of us it is roaming, but 5 hours east of us is fine.. Lose signal in spots in our yard, but has clear signal 2 states away..

I have to study up on cell phone plans in our area this week for my Real-Estate career that starts soon, and I can say for definate certainty that I would go without before going with US Cellular.

Most plans have a zero roaming package..and thats the ONLY route id ever go...one never knows where they will be and I personally do not want to worry about being out of my roaming area if I want to use my phone..I just never realized that all phones didnt come with a memory chip...I DO NOW

Roaming sure is a killer, and we have to have no-roaming in our plan. That's part of why we were here a few months and still had Florida numbers.
