I think my MTS has got so bad my husband is getting building plans...

Yesterday he took a look around the house and then he said "we should build a room onto the house just for fish" He said "I might have to concrete to the center of the earth to hold the weight of all the tanks you would put in there, but if I did that, we could keep one tank in the living room that way" Hes talking about a small room, but still it don't sound like a bad idea...then when I walk into the house w/ a tank no one can say anything about theres no where to put it! Plus he said he'd put me a nice utility sink in there.

I know the room would only be about the size of a screened in porch onto the house, but my own room, for my fish, w/ a way to keep the kids out. The family would never see me again, ad a laptop and a small tv and a futon I'll just move in there.

Honestly plans to build onto the house like that, as broke as we stay that will be a long way off, we are building a deck onto the house in the first couple weeks of july, so our funds will be going towards that, I can't wait either. We have lived in this house for 5 years w/ just reg steps and no deck, so to cook out its our nice grill and we have to bring the food in. So to have a deck, and cook out, we can get us some patio furnature and sit out there and enjoy it.

A fishroom, now that was a good idea... I could get a couple nice recliners for in there, and sit in there and watch my fish like a big screen tv store...

That sound like a cool plan.
When we buy/build a house, we making sure it has a finished basement with a big rec-room. We want to build some tanks in the wall and make spaces in behind for easy access. I don't care how big the kitchen is but a big basement is a must.
But our problem is get the fish store going or build the house? Def cannot both at the same time.

Have you thought of building your house and doing your basement up w/ the fishtanks and maybe selling the fish out of your basement for a while? There is an aquarium store in a nearby town that started in a guys basement years ago (were talking over 20) and his business was so good hes out on his own and has been for a long time, and its an awesome store. They do freshwater and saltwater.

Yeah that is a thought. We have so many ideas. We are doing both fresh and saltwater. We know a few salt water freaks who can help us out.
We wanted to find a house/lot not right in the city & a space in the city for the store. The bf has another year before he is finished business management...so it's not like the store is opening anytime soon.
Tho someone gave us hopes of sooner and backed out of the plan.

Its so nerve wrecking to start a business these days I am sure. My mom was on edge when she was getting her resturant going. She actually sold desserts out of her house for a couple years before she opened a resturant. She actually has a business degree and still is having to have someone do her books for her, and she hired an attorney to help her keep her stuff legally in order, especially w/ people working for her. But I say if you are going to do it, do it right if you want it successful. Sounds like if your BF is getting a degree in Business management (at least its not a 20 year old degree like my moms, she was lost where its been so long thats why all the help for her) you all will be successful, you w/ the fish knowledege, him w/ the business knowedge!
I'd just like a bunch of tanks like a fish store in my house in one room

honestly no problem I would love it, last night he was just making fun of me along w/ talking about it, I was doing my water changes/vaccuming and talking to the fish, I do consider them my pets. I talk to the cat too, but thats not strange to him, he has no prob w/ her litter box and food bowl/water bowl in his bathroom...
I do understand his point, I have took over the fireplace mantle for my chemicals and food because my 2 year old cannot get up there (I need a padlocked cabinet), 2 55gs in the living room, a 36g, 2 5gs on the computer desk, a 20l on one kitchen counter, and a 10g on the other and I am still needing another tank about 20-30g in the next months (havent' said anything yet to him, don't want him to blow his top) plus I want to start saltwater.... so if I want more tanks than the 7 than I have, getting another room on the house to put the fish, he can't complain about all the tanks I can put all I want in there.... evil grin....
