Getting another aquarium Friday, not 90g.. but its nice!

My husband found it on craigslist, its a 58g oceanic tank really good deal, we are picking it up Friday morning. I can't wait! Its stand and all! Has the glass tops like I have on my tanks... the whole deal. The only thing I will need is my cichlid substrate, my big rocks, I will change the background, and I am going to add a canister filter, prob will change the hob to a biowheel too.

We talked yesterday about the fact that If we got a 90g that I wouldn't give up my 55g or the 36g so I told him I would take another 55g and separate out the species in the 55g tank so we could get some different cichlids like a trio of red top hongi, cichlids we don't see in the stores around here, etc some others we will have to order online. Not to mention, we are going to get another female and male for our red top zebra, and a couple females for our ice blue male... basicly getting all of our cichlids into "trios"

I think I might sell my kenyi as a pair, since I know for a fact they are and have bred twice. They are getting to rough on the other fish. Even for another tank. I also have another fish that I don't mention having, because it was a mistake buying it, its a hybrid peacock, an ob peacock. I will be letting that one go as well. (so meanies and odballs are getting booted)
I might get rid of the blue hap ahie and the female blue hap as well, they are not a pair, but they are just taking up space in the tank, and I cannot mix them w/ the peacocks (since they will cause hybrids) so off they will go most likely. (I am going to talk to a fishstore when we pick up the tank friday about getting these cichlids off my hands, they are prob the only ones locally I would give the cichlids I have "raised" too if I don't try to sell them online these guys/girls are the bigger size).

So, I guess either have some lake wading for rocks, or river. Or I will be checking out some landscaping places (this season w/ the snakes prob will be the landscaping places unless my husband is getting the rocks) I didn't mind doing it in the winter for my other tank, no snakes! lol

I wasn't expecting to find another tank so fast.. this is so exciting.. a new tank.. more room.. for more FISH!! My MTS is really going here!!! Im getting my "fix" that will bring my tank number up to 7...

YAY. I am excited for you! Good deals always make it better. I KNOW t=you will post photos as soonas the tank is presentable. MTS is a hard disease to handle, especially when everyone congratualates you on new acquisitions.

Keep me in mind if you find a source for the ice blue females -

thanks you all, did I mention the tank, stand, glass top, hob filter, air pump is only 175.00?? thats whats even better!! (I feel like a kid on christmas now!)
we are looking at canister filters now, I think I am going to stick w/ my eheim ecco so my filter media is all the same, and petsmart has a great deal on the penguins, the 350s are only 26 dollars... (since our order will be over 50 it will be free shipping, even sweeter!)
On the ice blues.. I think we are going to try someone on ebay they seem to have any species of cichlid out there, and if you order the larger size you can pick the sex of the fish you get. If we go through them, I will let you know if they are a good source. I am nervous about ordering fish online, I rather go to the place and buy the fish from the person as I am looking at the fish.

maybe I will luck up this weekend and one of my chosen stores will have a couple, or will order them for me. I know there is a place in Oak Ridge Tn that I haven't talked to yet about getting cichlids yet, they personally go and hand pick their fish when they buy them for their store, so they are great quality. The owner told me a couple months ago whatever cichlid I wanted she could get, I might use her as a resource this time, since I will be stocking another tank completly, I am going to need those ice blues, a couple cobalts, red top zebra, red top hongi, and I think we are going to get some cynatilapia afra also. (trying to go w/ the breeds that you can't just walk in a fish store around here and buy)

Your tank is going to awesome!

Saw the post on the other thread about it - hadn't see this one. I didn't think about ebay for fish!

Petland said they can get one or two next week but have no idea how much - My guess is going to be more than I want to pay.

Your resource may be a good thing for stocking a new tank

Okay - After checking ebay, petland may not be such a bad idea! The fish aren't bad but the shipping is ouch!

I posted on the other one about the greyshakei's I got the females at petsmart for 5.49 a peice.... what a deal!! we got them when getting our tank today.....
heres the link to our tank for a pic..
http://knoxville.craigslist.org/for/707514271.html

they listed it as a 55g tank, but its a 58g and the filter that came w/ it is only up to a 40g wisper.. so I am going to have to do my own dressing up...
Of coarse I have my picks of the stealth heater that I have to have, the eheim canister, etc...
we did find a cool background for it today, its a rock wall w/ ferns going down it, to give it some green. I also love how the tank is big from front to back, the cichlids will love it as well.

Thanks, I am def happy w/ my find! Its beautiful in my living room! Most everything in my living room is beige and white, so that light wood just looks so pretty, I can't wait to get the tank going, all I have is my substrate, and background. I am going to have to go wading in the river for some cichlid rocks now... (here snakey, as I scream my only dread) It will be a couple weeks getting it going to cycle of coarse I can fast track that w/ my other 6 tanks, I can always use filter media from other tanks, but I am going to order my new fish anyways, so as we all know w/ aquariums patience is a good thing!
