Good idea! It is a touchy thing though, as recommendations are just that, and if fish don't respond to one thing, they often need another.
It helps to know that bacteria is either gram negative, or gram positive. So if you read on a drug and it treats both, your chances of hitting right the first time are best. However, some medications are harder on the fish, some have agents which help keep it in contact with the fish so it does it's job, and some are systemic, and enter the fish without it having to eat it.
I am sure most here feel more comfortable sending people to the fishlore fish diseases pages already posted. They don't tell what medicine to use, but do describe different problems, and what causes it, sometimes it will even say what general drug you can try, but from there you have to figure it out as across the world there are different brand names available.
